Development

Tonight, I become a consultant...okay so not a full blown consultant. I have my first group meeting tonight to discuss scheduling and strategy for the Boston Playwrights Theatre project that we will be working on. I have a unique group of people working with me, so that makes me a little nervous. The project itself however is really interesting and I think it will be a great learning experience. How often do you get to help an organization build a development program from the ground up?

I had a great meeting today at the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC) when I went to discuss the upcoming grant that I have to write. Our program coordinator gave some great insight into how we can up the quality of our grant proposal and I feel really confident that I can build a great grant! Stay tuned to hear the outcome.

It is official! I'm coming back to DC....at least for a few days. March 12-14 I will be in DC for the National Arts Advocacy Day with Americans for the Arts. It's a very exciting opportunity to meet with other people from MA to discuss the arts and it will also be a unique opportunity to meet with legislators in their capital hill offices to talk about arts issues that are key right now. The best part is, I don't have to take vacation time for it!!! There are a few other people from my arts administration program going to so I am hoping we can learn a lot and benefit our respective companies at the same time!
